> D • A • M • I • E • N < Once again, Damien was in Olympus, looking for Poseidon. Or his other mother, since Athena had never really been there to act like a mother. Why would she? She's got a whole world to deal with. Damien trudged through the woods, swatting away the faeries like they were pesky mortal insects. He waved off the offer of Hawaiian punch from a friendly dryad, passing by her like she wasn't even there. Couldn't anyone see he was preoccupied?
He came upon Poseidons temple, nothing grand but beautiful enough to take the viewers breath away. Only Damien wasn't a viewer. Damien kneeled down on his knees and pressed his eyes closed.
Goddess of the sea and water, hear my plead O Goddess, feel my need Um... thou art not mean I ask of you to appear to appear in a form that can be seen And.... oh whatever, Poseidon please come here, I need to speak to you, you're the only one I can confide in right now, and I may have a pissed off goddess on my hands... Amen.

Poseidon appeared in her temple, responding to the prayer with a traditional greeting. "Έχω εμφανιστεί μπροστά σας." She said, boredom ridding her tone. Then she saw the demigod, and her deep blue eyes flew open. "Damien?" She said. "What...I-I thought you had become a mortal!" Poseidon gulped. Something was wrong. She could see it in his eyes. Something had happened to Kalyca.

> D • A • M • I • E • N < Damien hesitated for a split second. It seemed like an impossible task to express everything that was bursting to come out.
"Well...me and Kalyca were meeting up again, and getting along fine -" He paused to choke back the pain, but he had to continue. "- getting along fine, then she went went haywire and started yelling at me that I was - was breaking a promise..."
The words came out slow and hesitant, bu after a while, he was talking as fast as he could.
"...and then I came to you" He said. An uncomfortable silence filled the temple after his story, but Damien was immersed in his thoughts, thinking about the wind in Kalycas hair as she walked away and the particular way she smiled when she was happy, and the color of her eyes..

The more Poseidon listened, the angrier she became. Her eyes turned a deep, dark red and her hair turn indigo. "Aphrodite." She hissed through her teeth. "That σκύλα..." She turned her attention towards Damien again, seeing the longing, sadness and confusion in his gaze. "This deed with not be overlooked." She said in a dark tone. "Aphrodite will be punished." Too much to do...first, Hades's disappearance, now this? Poseidon's eyes turned a deep blue and her hair returned to a light lavender. Too heavy a burden for one god. But she had to help Damien - this was clear. "First, I will track down Aphrodite and make her pay for her mischief. Then, I will speak to Kalyca." Poseidon promised, a sad look in her eyes. "But I'm afraid there is nothing any of the gods can do to help Kalonice. Once a person has received the "blessing" of Eros," Poseidon air-quoted, "There is no cure." She paused, unsure of what to say. "Well, that is, aside from death." Poseidon winced. Had she gone too far? She knew how much Kalonice meant to Damien, but if he truly loved Kalyca he would have to forget about her.

> D • A • M • I • E • N < Relief flooded through him, like water on a burning man at the sound of Poseidons words. Damien bowed deeply, his head touching the floor lightly and his knees curled up beneath him.
"Thank you, Poseidon" He whispered.
Some part of him had always knew that Kalonice was incurable, but once the realization hit that she would never be right - never be his friend again; the pain of losing her made him slump the floor. He pulled on the roots of his hair, wishing for things that could never be. Kalonice was his best, and only friend. Sure, he had other acquaintances but none he could call a true friend. He was always the mysterious one on the outside of everything. Then Kalonice had come along, and the world seemed perfect, until he met Kalyca. With both Kalyca and Kalonice, he had thought life would be perfect....
But who among us can achieve perfection?
