It wasn't his idea to be in the Fields of Punishment. Not his idea. But he would follow the orders he was given. What else would he do? Cohn shivered and walked farther into the entrance way to the fields of punishment. The quest was the only thing keeping him from turning around and walking back out. He closed his eyes for a second and thought of his mother, his sisters, and his father, all together happily. Opening his eyes, he trudged into the fields of punishment.

Hades' eyes flew open. She was on her throne, with her eyes closed, or were mind you, thinking. Not sleeping, gods don't sleep but thinking. However she was interrupted by a messenger. A ghost, more solid looking than many of the others to be honest. It was odd. He knelt on the ground, bowing his head in respect. "Rise." She spoke coldly, without a hint of emotion.
"My Lady, there is a live one here. He has just entered the Feilds of Punishment. A demi-god." Hades smiled cruely. She would take care of this demi-god with ease.
"Do you know who his god parent is?" sh asked, hoping that Posidon or Zues had a child. Alas, she was wrong. All of their children were well known.
"He is an unknown demi-god My lady." He said, head still bowed in submission.
"Very well you may go."
He stood and scurried away, but before he reached the doors he burst into black flames.

Cohn tried to keep out the chill that seeped into the bones the instant he stepped into the Fields. It wasn't like he came here on his own accord, so he wasn't trespassing. ..Was he? Cohn shook his head, clutching his jean jacket closer to his skin. He needed to retrieve something from Elysian, then he could go back. A cold mist shrouded his feet, chilling his ankles to the bone. Cohn lifted up his foot, out of the swirling mist but the chill didn't leave his bones. Cohn swallowed the bitter taste in his mouth and kept walking.

Hades swept out of the throne room gesturing with a flick of her hand for armed gaurds to follow. They did so, fearing what might happen if they failed to interpert her sign. She moved about the long dark hallways and past staircases leading mostly to nowhere. That was the trick about the Underworld. Most things lead to nowhere, to get around you had to know which door was a dead end and which was not. Most had no idea of course. Finally she emerged into her 'outside' with a black sky and black ghosts of ruins, forming what looks like it might have been stone at some point and stood where she knew he would emerge, if he ever did.

He was slogging through the mist, witch seemed to have congealed around his feet, and now was more of a damp, freezing marsh. His feet weren't going numb, but instead throbbing with pain. Even though it didn't seem so, he was trying to run through the thick mist. He wrapped his arms around his shoulders and shoved past the mist. He couldn't tell if he had been walking for hours or mere minutes, but abruptly, the mist parted, to reveal darkness. At least that was what his eyes could see, considering the mist was a great deal lighter then anything around him. As his eyes adjusted, he could see a silhouette of darkness standing right in front of him.

Hades smiled a cruel smile. He made it out. At a closer look he was a tan child. Yes, child. This boy was maybe shy of fourteen? Someone must hate him to send him here. He was blonde, she hated blondes. He looked fit, like he was active. He was like the stereotype of people she hated. "Welcome to the Underworld" she said in her high voice. There was a hint of danger, an undertone that screamed for anyone to run. Hades was on her home turf. No use running now. She stepped forewards a few steps to get a closer look.

The Darkness stepped forward, the inky blackness forming into a persons figure. Only now, he stared transfixed at the burning red eyes, and the pale skin, shadowed by the dark skies. She was also a god, he reminded himself sternly. His hands shook as he bowed to the goddess, politely and respectively, though he hated breaking his gaze at her. He bowed, and only then did he notice the absence of anything growing on the dead soil.

Hades walked forewards slowly, the black dress she was wearing making the only noise that could be heard by mortal ears in the deathly silence. "Rise." She circled him, like a cat, never taking her eyes off him. Hades stopped in front of him, running her long nail across his jawline. "Who sent you and what for?" She asked, staring directly into his eyes. Her voice had taken on the cold tone again, as if she had no care to the subject. It could also be considered cruel. She smiled. Ah the things she had in store for this child.

Cohn straightened his back, her fingers sending painful shocks throughout his jaw. "I-I was s-sent to ret-t-rieve something f-from Elys-sian." He said, the shudders rippling through his body affecting his speech. He wondered why he was so scared. He looked at her eyes, and immediately looked away. There was nothing in those crimson irises. Nothing.

Hades thought for a moment. Before forcing the boys chin up. "You failed to answer one of my questions. Who sent you? To retrieve what?" Her nails dug into his skin for a stronger emphasis. The boy seemed...normal. She wondered who he was a decendant of. Not good looking enough for Aphrodite... Hestia doesn't have decendants... Who knows. Well... the boy. One question at a time though. No use in bombarding the child. She laughed, high pitched with a hint of pure insanity that chilled the gaurds even. Everyone's objctive in lie should be to not hear her laugh. "Whoever sent you here must have really hated you. Or been foolish enough to think you would get out here... unharmed"

Cohns legs were shaking so badly, they almost buckled under him. Almost. "Hestia." He said faintly, whispering, her nails digging painfully into his soft flesh. "She s-sent me. I need to ret-trieve something from a g-ghost who died w-with something imp-portant. I d-don't know what it-t i-i-i-" His teeth chattered together painfully, and he couldn't finish his sentence. Was it true? Did Hestia really hate him? After all, she had sent him into the underworld, after something witch he didn't know... What are you thinking? Cohn thought. Hestia would never do that. She was a god, for petes sake.

Hades turned around with no expression and began to walk the other way. "Coming?" The gaurds straightened up as the walked past them. Hades did not slow her pace for a second.

His legs started walking of there own accord, following in line with the other figures surrounding her Majesty. Once again, the freezing mist swirled in around his feet, but this time it was up to his thighs, and seemed to dissipate one step in front of him. Of course, every time he placed his foot out, the mists rapidly swarmed forward, so they were always a pace or two in front of him. The mist soon placed there freezing fingers in his bones, and pain approached him every step. All he was aware of was one foot in front of the other.

Hades walked back inside, the stone walls creating the appearane that they were in a castle. That was one more thing about The Underworld. One cannot find the entrance to her castle without knowing beforehand where it was. She walked through halls, without sparing a second glance at all the doors and black stairways she passed.
Eventually she stopped, turning towards a entryway, a long winding staircase, the light of a torch out of sigh casting long shadows across the walls. She dismissed all of her gaurds save for one who stood behind the boy as she began to go downwards. The staircase was barely wide enough for one to stand, with their hips close to the stone walls on either side.
"What is your name and who are you a decendant of?"

"M-my name is Cohn, son of Hermes, your highness." He said, claustrophobia hitting him like a physical wave. He was never one for closed spaces, not after the school bully had shoved him in a locker when he was in 1st grade. That was the last time anyone had done anything mean to him. Then his mind flickered back to the present, and he nearly died when he realized he was in the Underworld. Though he wasn't trespassing. He had a quest... A quest to find someome you don't know, to get something you don't know, and without the permission of Hades. He involuntarily thought. Be quiet. He sternly thought. But his mind refused to shut up.
