Poseidon paced back and forth, becoming anxious. She had just sent a demigod on an important quest, and she was beginning to regret it. She had sent a child of Athena to retrieve her wisdom beads that had fallen to the city below. But now she was doubting his success. Children of Athena were exceeding smart, and made wise decisions, but they did not have many attributes that would help them in battle. What if he should encounter a hoard of beasts? The physical tension in the city was very high, and it is likely the creatures there would be very aggravated. Even the most highly trained demigods there were found it hard to slay a irritated monster. Perhaps she should go down to Earth and assist him...Just then she saw Zeus, her best friend, and quickly ran over. "Hello, Zeus! How has your day been?" She asked, relieved to be around a friend.

Hey, Posey! It's been pretty good, thanks for asking!" She said, smiling. It only took one glance at Poseidon to see she was stressed out. Zeus and Posey had been friends since the dawn of time - it was only expected that they could read eatchother like an open book.
"So what's going on with you?" Zeus said carefully, grinding the edge of her armored boot into the soft ground. She wondered if Posey's worried mood had anything to do with that demigod she had sent out earlier. Son of Athena, wasn't it? Ack, she could never remember these demigods, and who there parents were.

Poseidon nodded. "I'm worried. He's fairly new, and I think I put too much work on him. There has been an outbreak of monsters in the city, and I sent him there..." She shook her head sadly. "It would break my heart if he was harmed, or worse..." She gulped and looked at Zeus, her deep blue eyes clouded with sadness and worry. Zeus knew that she saw Spiro in every demigod she met. She knew that she treated them all like her children. Perhaps that made her weak, but then again, perhaps it made her more compassionate. If someone's life was in danger and it was her fault, Poseidon did not care. But Zeus would understand. She always did...

Zeus smiled sadly, patting her friend on the shoulder. It's okay - he's going to be fine, Posey. He's the son of Athena - he knows battle strategy, and he's smart. Now take you mind of such matters!" She said, taking two glasses of Hawaiian punch from a passing Dryad. Zeus handed one of the glasses to Zeus knowing her fondness for the red liquid would ease over at least some worry on the demigod. Zeus knew that in Posey's eyes, she saw a Spiro in every demigod that passed before her. She needed to lighten up a bit, and let them make there own mistakes, and learn from the consequences. Of course, she wasn't a mother.

"Thank you." She said, taking the Punch from her and slurping it greedily. "I suppose you're right...I would just feel so responsible if anything happened." She sighed. "Perhaps I need a vacation, like Artemis." She said, mentioning the hunting goddess who was currently in human form, relaxing in Hawaii. She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to connect with the demigod. This was difficult, because not only was he not her child, but he was all the way down in Earth. She sighed again. "I'm sorry, I must seem so weak to you, as if I'm fussing over nothing." She looked at Zeus with a tender look in her eyes, full of compassion and caring that only a true mother's eye's could have. "Of course he isn't my child. Yet somehow I feel so close to him." Worry clouded her eyes again."Do you think Athena will be angry?"

"No, of course not! Athena's not going to hold a grudge because you feel motherly over a demigod. Athena isn't like that." She said, sipping on the Hawaiian punch like a lifeline.

H A D E S - -- ---
At that moment the bright colors of Olympus flickered and black smoke materialized swirling and forming into the form of a nine year old girl with a black dress and hair that contrasted against her death white skin and red eyes brilliantly."Having a nice day ladies?" she spoke in her high light and carefree sounding voice. She smiled showing perfect white teeth. Her thoughts were dark and angry, the development she had to make in the past few weeks was astonishing, the feilds of punishment were getting bigger and bigger. There is only so much of the dead she can hold. She had to hire new people to run her courts and whats worse- that meant there was more payment to give them. Hades was not happy. --- -- -

"Oh, hello Hades." She said, smiling at the goddess. "My day's been fine, thank you. It's just..." She stopped. If she told Hades of her worry of the demigod, she would mock her half to death. And you did not want the goddess of the Underworld thinking you are weak. That's exactly what she wants. "How are things going in the Underworld?" She asked, quickly changing the subject.

"You were always the drama queen," She muttered under her breath, knowing perfectly well everyone here was a GOD and could hear her words perfectly. She adjusted her sword belt and walked next to Posey. She wasn't the fondest of Hades, who hated everyone. She would be friends, if only Hades let up on the whole 'dramatic flare' and 'I hate people' outlook.

Hades eyes flared up at the mention of 'how things were going in the Underworld'. "Badly, thanks to you. The mortals are dying at a remarkable rate! Death toll has increases a hundredfold and I see you fools in Olympus doing nothing! I have to expand my realm by day and the Feilds of Punishment is bigger by the hour! I have to hire new judges for my courts! Why are you not stopping these deaths?" Hades hissed, speaking softly the whole time, her eyes fashing dangerously and enough so to remind them that though Hades spent her time underneath them all she was still powerful.

Poseidon was frozen, taken off guard by the goddess's sudden shift in tone. She didn't know whether to be offended or sympathetic. "Yes, well, that is understandable. Recent outbreaks of monsters worldwide have been affecting the death toll. But there is nothing we can do about that without starting a war..." Poseidon trailed off. She hated fighting and wars. Perhaps that was why she disliked Ares so much. Either way, she decided that when you were speaking with the goddess of the Underworld, it was better to keep your trap shut than to risk saying something stupid. So that is exactly what Poseidon did. Kept her trap shut.

Zeus sighed and said; "If you think we've been sitting on our pretty little thrones, singing all day while there's been mass murdering down in the mortal world, then you are sadly mistaken, Hades. Is that going to be all?" Hades just rubbed a nerve, as Zeus glared conversationally at Hades.

Hades straightened her back "Well what HAVE you been doing? Sending petty demigods to join the dead ones hoping for one to help a little? Your GODS for crying out loud. I doubt you would lose the war."She hissed, her red eyes glinting dangerously. Olympus fools. Did they so happen to forget that monsters are no match for gods?
Her nails dug into her skin and her teeth clenched. She hated not being the one in control, as she usually was in the Underworld. This was not a welcome change for the Goddess of the Dead. No, not indeed.

"Perhaps we are not the ones to be talking to about this matter." Poseidon said through clenched teeth. "If we were to go down to Earth in our true forms, things would only get worse." She looked up at Hades with a hard, blue gaze. "Would you like the suicide rate to go up instead? Because that is what will happen if we reveal that the gods of Olympus are real, not just idols of worship. Many mortals would rather die than be proved wrong in everything they believe in. You have met many of the like, I assume?" Poseidon said bitterly. She looked at Zeus with a warning gaze then exited, walking towards the Great Hall.

Zeus was at a loss of words, so she just nodded curtly at Hades, to signify she agreed with the words Zeus said and followed after Poseidon, walking in her wake. "How many mortals do you think still acknowledge us..." She said, the thought occurring to her. She doubted anyone down below remembered the Greek gods. She phrased the question as a rhetorical one, and she didn't expect an answer.
